Meeting of the Board of Directors of the Theological Institutes of Consecrated Life in Rome
From 7 to 8 of June 2016, the Board of Directors of the Theological Institutes of Consecrated Life of the Congregation had its first meeting held at the General Curia in Rome. Present were Father General, Fr. Mathew Vattamattam, Fr. Henry Omonisaye, representative of the General Government and president of the Board, Fr. Carlos Martínez, Director of the Instituto Teológico de Vida Religiosa - Escuela Regina Apostolorum of Madrid, Fr. Xabier Larrañaga, Director of the Instituto de Teología de la Vida Consagrada (Claretianum) in Rome, Fr. Samuel Canilag, Director of the Institute of Consecrated Life for Asia (ICLA) of Quezon City, Fr. Xavier Manavath, Director ofSANYASA: Institute of Consecrated Life (SICL) of Bangalore, and Fr. Ricardo Volo, profesor of Claretianum, Executive Secretary of the Board.
Two projects that were approved by the board were:
- The creation of a common digital Portal with the purpose of having a digital platform of encounter, information and collaboration between the different Theological Institutes of Consecrated Life with a vision that this platform progressly amplify its service to the Consecrated Life as a whole. A commission compossed of Fr. Ricardo Volo as coordinator, Fr. Louie Guades III, as IT expert, a representative from each of the institutions will work on this project;
- A joint development of manuals of theology of Consecrated Life which will be developed in several stages over several years.
In the afternoon of the last day, the Board had the opportunity to connect and dialogue via Internet with Fr. Agustín Monroy, from Colombia, and with Fr. Antonio Santillán, from Argentina. They wer interested to inform the Board reagarding some of the recent encounters of some Claretians in different countries of South America who are working particularly with the religious, wherein there is a possibility to errect a Theological Institute of Consecrated Life. The memebers of the Board expressed their support for what they are doing.
